First two weeks ...

It's been a little over two weeks since we have officially arrived in Bangkok, even though Ted has been here off and on for the last 6 months.  We have got our bearings, found grocery stores we like; department stores we like and of course restaurants that are fantastic (anytime I do not have to cook it's a good thing).  We are missing the "normalcy" of home, but this is quite an opportunity to be given.  They say there are three seasons here in Bangkok:  hot, hotter and then hotter than heck ... I think we are approaching the hotter than heck season.  It's very warm until end of May, then the rain starts ... can you tell we are typical Canadians and love to talk/complain about the weather?  We have met some very nice people, the other night we were at dinner with a group of five .... two from Canada (us), one from Australia, one from Thailand and one from India, talk about diversity.

Last Saturday we went to Chatuchat Market.  It's the largest market in Thailand.  It takes up 35 acres and they have 15,000 vendors.  Did I mention, Ted loves markets and it doesn't matter how hot it gets, he loves to explore and barter with people for stuff we really do not need.  It was a great trip, one we have to do probably once a month.  It will take us years to see everything in the market.  The day ended with us buying our first major furniture here in Thailand.  We bought two beautiful Chinese replica cabinets, they will definitely add some colour to this very white condo.  This furniture will definitely be coming back with us.

We are trying to explore every weekend, so will keep you up-to-date on our adventures.  Bye from Bangkok!
